After bypassing Dinosaur National Monument, we started driving across the Utah desert early in the morning. The sky was deep, perfect blue, and the desert scrub reminded me of west Texas.

By the time my work day would start, we were just outside of Park City, UT. I spent my entire day working from the restaurant side of a Whole Foods Market, which gave me a bit of a connection and a nostalgic feeling toward Austin (except I could see Olympic ski slopes where where I was working). It was a good day of work -- testing the Ubuntu Maverick Meerkat Beta ISOs.
Exchanging a few emails with one of my Canonical colleagues, Matt, we received a fine recommendation for Mexican cuisine. Considering the proposition for a moment, I realized that we have not had a bite of Mexican food since leaving Austin nearly two and a half months ago! Kim and I were sold immediately. There was a long wait (usually a good sign) for a table, so we drove around downtown Salt Lake City for a little bit, passing by the Mormon Temple, a couple of statues, and the Utah State Capitol building.
Shortly after being seated at the Red Iguana, I was immersed into a little Mexican heaven.
I had a jalapeno margharita (yep, it's spicy!)
And then I sampled seven (yes, 7) different mole's.
Vacillating among the mouth watering choices, I finally picked one (almost at random), and stuffed myself.
If this wasn't enough, during the course of the meal, Kim asks me something she's never asked before... "When you say you're coding, what are you actually doing?" Oh, baby. This opened the door for a 3 hour conversation late into the night. I drove and Kim wrote "hello, world" programs on her computer in 5 different languages. This may be one of the proudest moments of my life :-) See my work blog for more about this one...
