So at 11 months, Camille has been going to swimming class with our good friends Marie and Pepper, once a week, since she was about 6 months old. She enjoys the "motorboats".
Standing on the white platform thing...I forgot what it's called, but it helps them gain more independence and confidence in the water..she can't really touch the bottom yet so I still help.
And...dun dun dun...my most feared part of the lesson...going under water!
I was so worried about this when we first started the class and I even asked our Pediatrician what she thought...I was expecting that she'd say it's a bad idea, but she was like no it's fine! Uh...okay are you sure! Oh My God...I didn't think I was going to survive this, but low and behold she does so great with it! She's now up to 5 seconds under water, which is the longest they'll go at this age...but she holds her breath and kicks to me and is not the least bit phased!
See mom...I'm fine!
Here she is on the "Quadro"...haha look at my face...watching other kids go under water is hard for me too.
We also work on grabbing the wall. I really enjoy this class so much more than I thought I would...they really build the skills needed for water safety, in the worst case scenario that we'd have an accidental fall into a pool. It makes me feel like neither of us would overly panic.
Along with her swimming talents ;) she's getting more verbal saying Dadda very clearly to get Dustin's attention. When he comes home from work she rushes to see him, exclaiming Dadda and pointing at him...it's so sweet.
She also has these funny little conversations with herself where you can tell she's deep in thought or imagination...who know's what she's talking about or to whom!
"uuuuu"
"shhhhhshhhh"
"phhfffff"
"hheeeehheeee"
"aaaahhhhh"
We got some new toys from MiMi and she loves them!
I often find the cat in there too...so it's really a multipurpose toy!
We are still working on getting her to try some new foods and she's made up her mind that she's not going to eat them!
But she's more than happy to share them with you!
(disclaimer- please forgive my appearance in the above photo...I found a quote on Pinterest that says, Today's hairstyle is called, "And I didn't brush my teeth either") So yeah, I'm pretty frumpy these days...please don't hold it against me :)
I'm just having too much fun with this adorably sweet, darling girl to worry about what Mama looks like :)
Making Daddy so proud...one of the three words she says is Aggie, along with Daddy and Mama of course.
