Canyon Edge Grape Harvest 2015

Three years since planting our first vines, we've just kicked off our first batch of wine from our own home grown grapes (we've made 3 previous batches were from bought grapes).

We harvested 10 pounds of grapes from 4 Lenoir (black Spanish) vines that are 3 years old.

We discarded 5 pounds of grapes due to quality control (spittle bugs). We tried harvesting the other 4 vines but gave up after I got popped 3 times by a huge nest of yellow jackets (ouch).

Kim stomped the grapes in a crawfish pot.  The OG was a little low so we added cane sugar.  pH was a little high so we added tartaric acid and meta bisulphite and potassium sorbate.  It'll rest for 24 hours then we are pitching yeast tomorrow. Fun!
