On our way to Boston we camped Friday and Saturday nights. The first night we stayed in "Paradise"...that's "Gangsta's Paradise" to be more specific! I call it that because the guy next to us thought that was the best song ever recorded, playing it very loudly 4 times in a little over an hour. Before falling asleep, we stretched out on the picnic table and were able to catch a couple of awesome shooting stars. Pretty magical! Dustin said it was probably the beginning of the Perseid meteor shower.
It was really cold that night, in the 40s actually, as we were in the mountains of Vermont.
The next day, we drove through some gorgeous country, in Vermont and New Hampshire, on the way to Mount Washington (a separate post). We passed some beautiful lakes...
And several charming covered bridges...
The next night we were a little bit luckier because it was much quieter and we were camping right next to a quiet creek.
We drank some wine from Montreal, straight from the bottle! Classy, I know.
We also made Zataran's Jambalaya on the camping stove, for a little taste of home.
And, of course, per request, smores for dessert!
We jumped across the little creek to a dry area in the middle spread out our camping chairs and caught another shooting star show.
