Camping in Port Jervis, NJ and a night in Pittsburgh, PA

Have you wondered when and where we find the time to do all of this blogging? Sometimes, it's in the oddest places and times :-) Here's Kim blogging at the Rockview Campground near Port Jervis, NJ.

This gal has dinner on the stove, a fire going, and is hacking away at theKirklands.net!

We left New Jersey early Sunday morning, and drove most of the length of Pennsylvania, through the mountains and a lot of rain, actually.

We passed close enough to State College, PA to merit dropping off of the interstate and taking a peek at Penn State's football stadium. Neat.

We arrived in Pittsburgh in the early afternoon, to visit our friends Danielle and Matt, and their little one, Gus. We also met Cindyloo, their darling pup, who did an impressive run through her tricks. My favorite was "take a bow", which I'll teach to Tiger and Aggie :-)

Matt was unfortunately scheduled to work on Sunday evening, so we only met him briefly for coffee and conversation before he had to shuffle off for a night in the ER. Bummer.

Matt's Mom graciously pulled grandma-babysitting duties so that Danielle could drive Kim and I around Pittsburgh for a little tour. For dinner, she took us to the Church Brew Works -- a brew pub in a renovated, former Catholic Church. The Italian Rococo style is somewhat similar to the church I grew up attending in Plaquemine, LA.

It was a little strange "drinking beer in church", to say the least... But it was all in good "taste".

Fermenting tanks were where the altar would be. The bars are where the confessionals would be. And there's seating up in the choir and organ section.

I had a taster flight of their brews, all of which were enjoyable. We had "pierogies" for an appetizer, and pizza for our meal, and caught up on many moons past with an old friend.

After dinner, we stepped outside for a picture in front of the sign. Danielle realized that she forgot her leftovers and she went back inside. Kim and I took advantage of the moment to have a little smooch. In the middle of the kiss, a group of 3 people walked past, deeply engaged in conversation. The girl was telling the other two guys, "...and the worst thing about the place is that NO ONE knows ANYTHING about Linux!!!" Kim, my darling, broke directly out of our kiss and says "Linux!?!" :-) That's my girl!

We then spent our second, and last night on our air mattress. For the second straight use, we woke up in the middle of the night to find our mattress completely flat. Yeah, we're done with that. We dumped it at our next stop, and will opt for our camping Thermarests from now on ;-)
