Natural Bridge and Camping in Grants Pass, OR

As we left Crater Lake, we definitely felt we were on the road less traveled. Traffic was thin enough for me to safely setup and execute this shot.

We also got our first glimpses of fall colors. We stopped a few times to take pictures of some of the foliage.

Oranges...

Reds...

And yellows were everywhere.

The moisture in this climate produces some enormous fungi.

We visited a neat little natural bridge formed by some ancient lava tubes.

This is the part of a swift moving creek where the water seems to have vanished.

But a little ways downstream, the water emerges again from the mouth of the lava tube.

And this was the man-made bridge leading up to the natural bridge.

We camped one night just outside of Grants Pass, OR, on our way south and west toward the California coast. Our proudly Republican camp hosts here were quite excited to host real Texans at their quaint little campground for the night ;-) I didn't have the energy to talk politics on this particular occasion.

That's about it for Oregon. We would leave in the morning, heading for California.
