We stayed at an unusually charming Hampton Inn in Flagstaff, roughly 30 miles north of Sedona and the plan was for me to drive down to check out Sedona while Dustin worked.
I was ready to go...I had my map, a plan, some snacks...uh and a nail in my tire...bummer, but after spending an hour in Sam's Club it was fixed and I was on my way. I took a beautiful scenic drive down and stopped along the way for some photos of the red rocks.
Once I got to Sedona, I shopped along the quaint Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village.
The next day I decided to hang around Flagstaff and was pleasantly surprised! I sought out, yes...another historic home.

The Riordan mansion was owned by two brothers who married two sisters. They made it rich in the lumber yards and basically built the whole town. The house was really beautifully done in an Arts and Crafts style and all of the furniture was original along with family portraits, heirloom quilts, and letters from a far away sister.
It was really fun.
