Artist Point is a must-see destination in Yellowstone. The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone has enthralled visitors for well over a hundred years, endearing the natural beauty of Yellowstone to all.
The vista sweeps up the canyon, with its steep walls meticulously carved by the Yellowstone River and the greatest waterfall in all of Yellowstone.
The incredible waterfall is both tall and voluminous, creating a spectacular focal point of the majestic canyon.
The canyon itself is a billion year old history lesson on Yellowstone. You can make out dozens of layers of differently colored rock and dirt. The prominent, vertical bands of basalt quite clearly delineate each of the massive volcanic eruptions that have shaped Yellowstone.
Needless to say, we enjoyed the views and appreciated the grand natural beauty.
