While Dustin was attending a very last minute conference in Taipei, Taiwan, I hung out with the Halcrows; Mike, Tressa, and little Bella. Tressa spoiled me rotten the whole time with yummy food, crafting, girly movies, long talks, and even some exercise. I must mention again how much I love basements! When we descended the stairs the room opened up to house a nice tv room and craft station! Crafting and watching movies....I was in heaven!
One night, Tressa took me out for a girl's night at a very nice Italian restaurant, while Mike graciously stayed home with Bella. The food was outstanding and the company even better! The owner of the restaurant, a very dapper fellow glided around the tables pouring wine and flirting with all the ladies. I felt like I was in Italy again! We shared a caprese salad, then I had mushroom ravioli in a tomato cream sauce and Tressa had the chicken pesto linguine. Finally to finish we each had a dark chocolate truffle with chocolate gelato inside, which was dusted by a fine powder of cocoa...uh to die for!
We also took a little tour of the Commons at Microsoft, where we had lunch and shopped at the Microsoft store. I had to buy Dustin a little something...just to tease him a little (Mike made me do it!)
Don't worry Dustin, Mike's attempts to bring me over to the Microsoft side failed, I'm still your Linux girl through and through!
I had a hard time leaving the Halcrow family, they took such good care of me while Dustin was in Taipei. I hope we can return the favor to them and all of our hosts when anyone wants to come to Austin!
