Savannah, GA

Hilton Head Beach was quite nice, and sunny. It was great weather, and the beach was really clean (though crowded). Here's Corey doing his best Hasselhoff impression.

We had a nice time, walking up and down the beach, on Kim's birthday. And we had a great dinner at a Greek place a few blocks off of the main strip in Savannah. After dinner, we walked back to the river to watch the fireworks. You can check out our video of the finale.

I then asked what Kim wanted to do with the rest of her big day. We went to a candy factory and spent the next hour watching taffy being made!

The machines and automation appealed to the engineer in me, and the sugar and sweetness to the confectionist in Kim.

I had Monday off, so we took a 3-hour bus tour of Savannah. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and informative. Savannah has a rich, colorful history! Savannah's shady streets are picturesque.

Kim loved the houses, such as this one, the "Savannah's Gingerbread House".

I preferred the Mercer house (from Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil).

Kim took a tour of one of the old houses, while I sat and read a book in Chippewa Park -- where Forrest Gump sits telling his life story, waiting for the bus to Jenny's.

After a leisurely time in old Savannah, we said our good byes to the lovely little town, and headed to Kennesaw, Georgia, where we are now. We're staying with our dear friends Craig and Cheron, and their darling twin boys for a couple of nights. I worked from Cuppy's Coffee today, while I think Kim, Craig, Cheron, and the boys when to the Atlanta Aquarium. I'm looking forward to seeing those pictures as much as you ;-)
