Dustin started his day at 6am, with a 60 minute run around Prague. From the Hilton, over to the River, up the River to the Charles Bridge, across the bridge up the hill a bit, and then back to the Hotel. Dustin says that the city was beautiful in the morning (apart from the bums peeing and pooping in the park). The Bridge was awesome at sunrise, without any vendors, and very, very few people at all on it.
While Dustin worked, I attempted to go to an art museum and I was really proud of myself for venturing to the outer areas of Prague by myself, and using my navigation skills to find my way through the winding streets, but alas...the museum was closed for "Technical" reasons...argh!
So shopping instead! I walked many miles today, enjoying just being in Prague and trying to find some special souvenirs.
One my way back I stumbled across a theater showing the best of Swan Lake the ballet!
While Dustin had a team dinner, I took myself to the ballet and to dinner afterwards! It was really fun. Apparently sitting in the fifth row just off center is a bad thing, so I managed to pay the least price for the best seat!
You do have to be careful not to get taken advantage of not being a native speaker or a speaker of any other language than English, because as I waited to buy my ticket I figured out that the group in front of me was trying to sell back one of their tickets so they could buy a cheaper one. Everything was all arranged when I reached the counter, they had been pointing at me and speaking in French I think, the cashier asked me if I was a single and told me that I could buy this ticket...when I asked how much it was, I wasn't surprised to see it was the most expensive option. So I said no. Then the lady who had orchestrated the plan grabbed the ticket out of my hand and "tutted" me. That's the sound you make when your aggravated about something like a "tuh" sound. I couldn't believe it! Whew! Nearly swindled!
And in a classic Canonical/Ubuntu style, Dustin and his co-workers ended the night with an ad hoc jam session, singing cloud-pleasers in the bar until 1am :-)

a note about Prague... it's best to ask a concierge to check and see if a certain venue is open because they close things down on a whim it seems like.
