One Night in Harrisburg, PA, then off to Prague, Czech Republic!

Somehow, we managed to sleep through a 3.6 magnitude earthquake that "rocked" the Washington DC metropolitan area. It hit at 5am, and I really wish I had awoken, and that I had a better story to tell about it. Actually, all I really felt was the pain of the next 12 hours with little to no cell phone service :-/

I worked the full day from Kate's house, breaking out my cloud-in-a-bag hardware to do some Ubuntu Enterprise Cloud testing. Kim did some laundry, and worked on the blog a bit, and packed.

We left DC around 4:30pm, which I strongly do not recommend... Traffic, traffic, traffic.

But once we got out of the city, the landscape was beautiful once again, particularly as we entered Pennsylvania.

We stayed at my friend Connor's house, where we're leaving the Jeep for a week. Connor and I have been friends since 8th grade, having attended both Catholic High School and Texas A&M University together. We've kept in touch. I call him weekly with medical questions, and he returns the favor asking me how to fix his Internet Exploder.

He has a gorgeous yellow lab named Indy (or is it N.D.?), which really made us miss our pups.

We went for a run on Friday evening around the neighborhood. It was quite nice... The last time Connor and I ran together was probably the Marine Corp Marathon in Washington DC in 2007. We weren't quite so ambitious Friday night, running merely 3 miles :-)

We had dinner at the Wick Hotel in downtown Hummelstown, PA, and Connor dropped us off at the Harrisburg Airport this morning.

We embarked on the first of our 3 flights today aboard this little puddle jumper. Kim says it's the first time she's ridden on a prop plane.

And where are we heading, you may ask?

I'm attending a "sprint" for work in Prague, Czech Republic. So we have to take a short break from the road trip and do a bit of travel in Europe. Such is life. Prague is a gorgeous city. I've been twice in the last 10 years, and I'm really looking forward to showing it to Kim.
